KSS 2012

KSS invites members to join the 2012 KSS committee.

KSS is completing yet another successful year. Some of the notable accomplishments in this year being

1.      Continued growth in Kannada class & education.
2.      Youth related programs.
3.     Fundraising for KSS Charity of the Year
4.      First ever Ventriloquist Artist – Indushree Program,
5.     Super Movie Supporting India day
6.      INTEL volunteer match program.
7.      HP Giving Station program.
8.      Record turnout at Rajyostava Program.

As a community we are expanding. With many new faces in each event and quality reaching higher levels, thus bringing in new challenges. Though a lot is achieved in last few years duration, much is yet to be achieved.
To make local Kannada Community a harmonious & vibrant one, we need to come together with renewed energy, novel ideas and of course new team.

As outgoing President & election officer to form a new committee, I would like to inform that we are having our general body meeting to form the KSS Committee 2012, on Sunday 22^nd January 2012 at 5PM @ SVCC temple.

Please let me know if you would like to contribute to the growth of local Kannada community by joining hands with us in 2012.

Election for KSS Officer (KSS Committee member): Eligibility and general info:

1.      All Kannadigas who can speak in Kannada are eligible to be part of the committee.
2.      Shall respect & adhere to the KSS constitution & Bye –laws.
3.      Attended most of the KSS events in the last 1-2 years.
4.      Eligible member has to be present on the scheduled election date. If unable to come, they should intimate inability to attend in advance.
5.      All elected committee members shall attend 75% of the KSS programs & monthly meetings failing of which shall result in forfeiting the position.
6.      Past organizational skills, experience, and reference are exceptions.

Kannada Sangha Sacramento selected its committee for year 2011 in its general body meeting held on Sunday, Jan 23rd 2011 @ Shri Siddivinayaka Cultural Center, Sacrameno.

Presenting the KSS Committee 2011

KSS is organizing Daasa Sharana Saahitya Sudhe (a vocal musical tribute to all Dasa & Sharana Sahitya composers) on Saturday, February 26th 2011 from 2PM onwards @ Laxminarayana Mandir, 7495 Elder Creek Rd, Sacramento, CA 95824.
It is a rare event in the region where all Indian music lovers come together to cherish the rich heritage of Carnatic, Hindustani, and other music. KSS cordially invites individual and group artists who would like to render compositions by any Dasaru and Sharanaru hailed from Karnataka.
To make event colorful, festive and memorable please come with costumes of characters like Purandara Dasa, Kanaka Dasa, Basavanna, Akkanmahadevi, etc. We encourage both adults and kids to wear costumes.
As usual we are sure there will be an overwhelming participation in the event. So to accommodate everyone please follow below guidelines. KSS team will make every effort to accommodate all. KSS is looking forward for a huge participation.
1 person: 4 minutes
Group of 2 persons singing: 7-8 minutes
Group of 3 or more persons singing: 11-12 minutes (exception to Navarathamaalike if any group is interested)
